Challenges

  • wanted to recruit through a new recruitment channel to attract new generation talents
  • lacked an effective and convenient tool for internal referrals to increase employees’ motivation

Solutions

  • Built a WeChat recruitment system in the official WeChat public account
  • Opened the "Career Story" module that job seekers can directly learn about SPD Silicon Valley Bank
  • Created a convenient WeChat internal referral tool

Results

  • By December 15, 2019, employee referrals accounted for 64% of all recruitment channels
  • By March 31, 2020, 80% employees completed employee verification on WeChat
  • Internal referral participation increased significantly to 77% in 2019, compared with 29% in 2018
